Pope Leo met with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parilla in audience at the Vatican on Feb. 28, after U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran had begun. Rodríguez came as a Special Envoy of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and expressed his gratitude that the Pope extended the honor of meeting with him. He also met at some length with Vatican Secretary of State Pietro Pierolin.
