Russian TV Highlights ‘Christian Crusader’ Element in Trump's Iran War

Rossiya-1 TV’s “Week in Review” highlighted the growing strain of Christian millenarianism in the U.S. war propaganda displayed in the U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran. While Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s tattoos again played a major role, the show also covered statements by House Speaker Mike Johnson, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and a few other congressmen in describing the effort as an attempt to save Christianity. They also used as illustrations medieval paintings of Crusader knights.

This is not the first time they have profiled the “crusader image” of the Trump Administration’s Middle East efforts, having featured previously the infamous “holding of hands” with President Trump and the religious leaders in the Oval Office.
