UN Secretary General Guterres in Beirut Issues 'Flash Appeal' for Aid to Lebanon, Ceasefire

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on March 13 flew to Beirut, where he issued what the UN calls a flash appeal for $308 million for emergency humanitarian aid for the country, reeling from the Israeli attacks. He reported on the dire situation. There are at least 816,000 internally displaced people. Some 90,000 persons have fled to Syria; these are mostly Syrians, but some are Lebanese.
