Remember former MI6 chief “Sir” Richard Dearlove, who oversaw the “Russiagate” fraud London ran against President Donald Trump in his first term?
Today he is a vociferous supporter of Trump’s war with the Israelis against Iran. That is not surprising; he has been involved in orchestrating events to ensure the outbreak of such a war for decades. Likewise, his ties to the Mossad are so tight that he brags of his personal role in helping the Israelis get their “act together” against Iran and its allies.
Interviewed by the UK’s Sky News on March 17, Sir Richard again complained that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is not sufficiently supporting the U.S.-Israeli war, insisting that it is in UK’s interest that the war be prosecuted, and the UK, therefore, should offer, if nothing else, “defensive” support.
Dearlove is not worried about Trump’s complaints about the failure of NATO and British Prime Minister Starmer to support his war. People should not exaggerate the impact of Trump’s talk on the long-term existence of NATO, he recommended. For one, Trump is fundamentally right that Europe must get its act together on defense. He added, however, that he does not believe that an alliance with Europe can replace the UK-U.S. relationship as the keystone of UK security. He stated firmly that he believes that there is no alternative, “at least as of now,” to that oh-so-special relationship with the U.S.
So, people should be “mature” about such statements from Trump, he argued. Trump “blows hot and cold,” and he is no historian, Dearlove commented, with his inimitable cynicism. “He should perhaps be reminded that the United States arrived rather late in WWI, and rather late in WWII.” Let that remark sink in!
