Trump lashed out on Truth Social after the Wall Street Journal reported that five KC-135 air refueling tankers were damaged by an Iranian missile strike at Prince Sultan air base in Saudi Arabia. Trump called the coverage “fake news,” saying four of the five aircraft suffered minimal damage and are back in service, with the fifth returning shortly. “The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, and other Lowlife ‘Papers’ and Media actually want us to lose the War,” he wrote.
The WSJ report brings the total number of Air Force refueling aircraft damaged or destroyed to at least seven, following what was reportedly a mid-air collision Thursday that downed one KC-135 and killed all six crew members.
