Two videos were posted March 9 to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social site, by self-described Christian preachers in recent years extolling Trump as God’s man as President. One video, titled “Donald’s Bible” was produced in 2020 by Dr. Clarence Sexton, the since-deceased preacher at Tennessee’s Temple Baptist Church who founded the Baptist Bible college called Crown College. Sexton hypes how Donald Trump was elected to the Presidency in 2016 through God’s mysterious ways for the purpose of bringing religion back to the United States, a claim built around the story that Trump’s Scottish-born mother had given him in his youth a bible which is said to be key in the great “Hebrides revival” movement in the 1940’s and 1950’s—which was set off by Trump’s two great-aunts on his mother’s side.
The second video, titled “Kim Clement prophesizing about Donald Trump in 2007,” is even wilder. Kim Clement, now deceased, is described as having been “a South African-born Christian prophet, musician, and teacher who became known for his involvement in the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), a movement characterized by contemporary prophetic ministries, belief in modern apostles, and a focus on reclaiming society for God.” (He was a heroin addict until 1974, when revelation hit him.)
Supposedly made in 2007, the two-plus-minute video, replete with weird background music, has Clement making loud prophesies, in a revivalist voice, about Donald Trump. A machine translation (lightly edited) states, “Trump shall become a second trumpet, says the Lord… I will raise up Trump to become a trumpet …to open up the gate of a financial realm for the church…. who will once again stand and watch over this nation… says the spirit of God: it shall come to pass that the man that I place in the highest office shall go in, whispering my name. But God said, when he enters into the office he will be shouting out by the power of the spirit. For I shall fill him with my spirit when he goes into office and there will be a praying man in the highest seat in your land…” Etc. Clement even prophesied that Trump “will bring the walls of protection on this country.” Thus, The Wall!
