The United States Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz addressed the UN Security Council on Feb. 28 in defense of Operation Epic Fury, the American military campaign against Iran.
The ambassador offered a familiar case for the strikes, claiming that Iran had menaced the region for decades. “No responsible nation can ignore persistent aggression and violence,” he told delegates.
He claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump and envoys including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner “were relentlessly dedicated to diplomacy” but that “diplomacy cannot succeed where there is no genuine willingness to cease aggression.”
