A New Paradigm Is Coming—Will Humanity Still Be Around To Enjoy It?

It is clear to anyone who seriously reflects on the incredible upheaval in the world order, one whose underlying, predatory financial system has sucked the lifeblood of most of the world’s economies for the past 50 or more years, that as humanity threatens to cross the threshold into nuclear war, we are yet just as close to the establishment of a completely new paradigm, governed by a completely different set of principles than those upon which the currently collapsing “Epstein-class system” of Wall Street and war has been based.
“We are in the midst of a restructuring of the global order, which we hope will lead to the establishment of a sustainable and just multipolar world,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a March 31 meeting of the Russian International Affairs Council.
“But for now,” he observed, “this transformation looks more like a breakdown in every sense of the word.”
Major efforts to prevent that breakdown from spiraling out of control continue. Coming straight off a meeting with his Saudi, Turkish, and Egyptian counterparts in Islamabad, Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar traveled to Beijing on Tuesday and met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to discuss reversing the escalation of the war in Iran. After the meeting, the two nations announced a joint five-point proposal to restore peace and stability in the region.
The same day, Egyptian President El-Sisi issued an urgent appeal to President Trump to stop the war: “In the name of humanity, and in the name of everyone who loves peace…I am directing this message to you personally, on my behalf, on behalf of the entire region, and on behalf of the whole world. Given the severe consequences of the war continuing any longer, please help stop the war. You are capable of doing so.” El-Sisi went on to outline the energy crisis descending upon the world economy, warning of dangerous repercussions for the global economy that will result only in “loss and destruction” for all.
Likewise, Pope Leo XIV, in remarks to journalists on March 31, said, “I’m told that President Trump recently stated that he would like to end the war. Hopefully he’s looking for an ‘off-ramp.’ Hopefully he’s looking for a way to decrease the amount of violence, of bombing, which would be a significant contribution to removing the hatred that’s being created and that’s increasing constantly in the Middle East and elsewhere.”
Reports are that President Trump is considering an end to the military campaign against Iran even before achieving the deranged goal of securing control over the Strait of Hormuz. The supposed reason is to stay within the given (delusional) “four-to-six week” timeline of the war, but the reality is that growing resistance from inside and outside the U.S. and the looming catastrophic blowout of both the financial and physical economy loom large. Predictably, the war party is not amused: Suzanne Maloney, Brookings Institution vice president, warmonger, and co-author of the roadmap to war in Iran, denounced the idea of ending the war as “unbelievably irresponsible.”
And yet, the shift in the global order is unstoppable. The system of empire cannot continue and is lawfully collapsing under the weight of its own evil and its violation of natural law.
Biogeochemist Vladimir I. Vernadsky described this unstoppable phenomenon in his consideration of the development of human civilization. Writing in the first half of the 20th Century, Vernadsky observed that, as the only cognitive species, humanity brings a unique and higher-order development to the planet as a whole, one driven by the introduction of discovered principles to powerfully reshape the geology of Earth—and beyond. This new state of the planet, in which mind plays the dominant role in shaping processes, he termed the noösphere. The growing unity of mankind, coming together under the authority of scientific truth and striving to create forms of government and governance coherent with the provable equality of all, is, Vernadsky insists, a natural geological process.
“Mankind taken as a whole is becoming a mighty geological force,” Vernadsky wrote in 1945. “There arises the problem of the reconstruction of the biosphere in the interests of freely thinking humanity as a single totality…. This new elemental geological process is taking place at a stormy time, in the epoch of a destructive world war. But the important fact is that our democratic ideals are in tune with the elemental geological processes, with the law of nature, and with the noösphere. Therefore we may face the future with confidence. It is in our hands. We will not let it go.”
The new security and development architecture that Helga Zepp-LaRouche has urgently called for reflects not only that sense of natural law, but also the fact that human beings, unlike animals, are creatures of free will and must choose to abandon their wrong ideas in favor of those that are more perfect: “The new paradigm which will be characteristic of the new epoch, and towards which the new global security and development architecture must be directed, therefore, must eliminate the concept of oligarchism for good, and proceed to organize the political order in such a way, that the true character of humanity as the creative species can be realized,” she wrote in her “Ten Principles of a New International Security and Development Architecture.”
