Ethiopia, Rosatom Move Closer to Building a Nuclear Power Plant

Ethiopia and Rossatom have taken a step further on the road to building a nuclear power plant. On March 31 Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gideon Timotheos met with a Russian delegation led by Nikolay Spassky, Deputy Director General of Rosatom, to discuss nuclear energy cooperation The talks were also attended by Sandokan Debebe, head of the Ethiopian Atomic Energy Commission, focused on implementing an action plan for developing a nuclear power plant in Ethiopia, which was signed between the parties in September 2025.
