In a letter seen by several media, the European Commission is asking member countries to implement austerity measures, cutting back on oil and gas use, especially in the transport sector, in preparation for “prolonged disruption” to energy supplies from the Iran war.
The letter comes from Commissioner Dan Jorgensen, who is known as a climate policy fanatic, advocating a quicker transition to net zero emissions and a cut in consumption of fossil energy sources. Now he has the pretext for insisting on his Green fascist agenda.
The Commission is, of course, worried about the economic and political repercussions of the Gulf crisis, from which several EU member countries receive their oil and gas.
