All eyes may be on Iran, but self-styled “Secretary of War” Pete Hegseth is still targeting boats in South America without presenting any evidence that they’re involved in drug trafficking. U.S. Southern Command, in fact, has reported four strikes in four days, killing 11 people. According to a report [https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/4/15/us-forces-kill-4-people-in-latest-strike-on-vessels-in-eastern-pacific] in Al Jazeera, the death toll in this U.S. campaign is now at 175.

Southcom reported four killed in a strike on Tuesday, two killed on Monday and a total five killed on Saturday in two separate strikes. In every case, “Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and were engaged in narco-trafficking operations,” Southcom claimed, without providing a shred of evidence.
