Oman has spoken with Iran about reopening the Strait of Hormuz, according to the sultanate’s official news agency, reported Middle East Eye yesterday. “Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran held a meeting at the deputy ministers level in the foreign ministries of the two countries, with the attendance of specialists from both sides,” the news agency posted on X.

The Wall Street Journal, citing Iran’s Fars News, reported yesterday that Iranian authorities had allowed 15 vessels to transit the strait in the previous 24 hours, still well below the average of 138 per day on average that crossed the strait prior to Feb. 28.
