Japan's Ambassador Summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry Over Drone Deal With Neo-Nazi Ukraine

On April 8, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Japan’s Ambassador to Moscow Akira Muto to issue a protest regarding recent reports that a Tokyo-based company, Terra Drone Corporation, had signed an investment contract with a Ukrainian developer of combat unmanned aerial vehicles. This is one of a series of actions by Japan which are unfriendly and/or outright hostile to Russia, as Japan advances a policy of re-militarization, which are similar to those carried out by Japan before World War II.

The Russian Foreign Ministry informed Japanese Ambassador Muto April 8, that “the systematic criminal provocations by Ukraine using UAVs against civilian sites and civilians within the territory of Russia provide grounds to regard such a step [by Japan] as overtly hostile and infringing upon the security interests of our country, including the protection of the civilian population.”

Russia’s Foreign Ministry “expressed its regret over Tokyo’s unfriendly policy towards Russia under the new cabinet of [Prime Minister] Sanae Takaichi, and went on to emphasize that relations between our two nations have reached an all-time low.”
