Maine’s two-term Democratic Governor Janet Mills, endorsed by Sen. Chuck Schumer, announced that she is suspending her campaign for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican Susan Collins, due to a lack of funds. The reason she lacks funds is because the people of Maine, like people all over the United States, are tired of war and funding wars while their economies are crumbling. Graham Platner, a USMC Iraq war veteran who is currently an oyster farmer, is taking the lead in Maine’s Democratic primary. Platner has opposed Israel’s genocide in Gaza and has been labeled as “anti-Semitic” by Jewish Insider.
According to Newsmax: “Mills entered the race last year as a top Democrat recruit, backed by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and national liberal groups aiming to unseat Collins and flip control of the closely divided Senate.
