The close relationship between China and Pakistan is being further strengthened as Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardani spends six days in China, April 25 to May 1, visiting Hunan and Hainan on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations. Zardani is meeting with provincial leaders and touring industrial sites. He laid a wreath at the bronze statue of Mao Zedong at Shaoshan in Hunan Province.
Zardani also presented Pakistan’s highest civilian award to Chinese doctor Prof. Pan Xiangbin in Changsha, for his “outstanding contributions to cardiac care and his dedicated service to Pakistani children.” Pan visited Pakistan in January 2025, according to Pakistan media reports, where he and his team “performed life-saving procedures on children suffering from congenital heart disease.”
Zardani signed agreements with Chinese companies on water desalination in Karachi, agricultural technology, and tea sector cooperation. On cooperation in space, two Pakistani astronauts arrived in China and entered the Astronaut Center of China in Beijing on Friday to join training alongside their Chinese peers, the China Manned Space Agency announced on April 24, the annual Space Day of China. Also, China launched a Pakistani satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi Province on Saturday, Xinhua reported.
