Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 13 met for five hours with visiting Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Moscow. There was a two-hour discussion between the two delegations, then a three-hour private discussion between the two Presidents. Energy was a major part of their discussion, as was the growing chaos in the world.

According to Indonesian Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the two countries agreed on several key points of strategic cooperation, particularly in the energy and mineral resources sectors, which constitute long-term priorities for both nations. “The meeting also addressed the continuation of several forms of cooperation in education, technological research, agriculture, and investment across various sectors, with a particular focus on industrial development in Indonesia,” he said in a written statement. Increased fuels, fertilizer and other supplies from Russia were discussed.
