Trump Admits U.S. Attempted to Arm Protesters in Iran In January

Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst, in an interview Sunday April, 5, reported on a conversation he had had with President Trump earlier that day. Amidst commenting on the situation in Iran, Trump reportedly also admitted that the U.S. had sent weapons to Iranian protesters during the anti-government uprisings earlier this year. “We sent them a lot of guns. We sent them through the Kurds.” He claimed that the Kurds kept them and they never reached Iran.

This statement matches with the statement by Treasury Secretary in February of this year, when he told the Senate Banking Committee that the U.S. intentionally created a dollar shortage in Iran, leading to the collapse of one of Iran’s largest banks. “There was a run on the bank. The central bank had to print money, the Iranian currency went into free fall, inflation exploded, and hence we have seen the Iranian people out on the street,” Bessent bragged.
