Trump Pressing Congress on $1.5 Trillion for War

According to a Politico article of Friday April 3, U.S. President Donald Trump is not only pinning an impossible $1.5 trillion war budget on Congress’ tail, the President is also demanding that legislators pass $350 billion of that immense amount on a “reconciliation” basis—requiring the Senate Parliamentarian’s approval that those hundreds of billions of additional money are directly related to some $1.15 trillion, which is to be appropriated as a “base defense budget,” and do not raise any new matters, but only more money. “Reconciliation” would allow the $350 billion to pass on a party-line vote, without allowing a filibuster.
