“The president is under enormous pressure,” Carlson wrote in his newsletter, entitled, “He’s in a Tough Spot.”
He wrote: “We hope he’s okay,” but something dark is going on. Carlson’s core argument is that Israel has a history of blackmailing Washington at critical points, and it is hard to account for Trump’s desperate behavior except to investigate whether that is what is now going on, to feed Netanyahu’s escalating war drive.
The post came after a rabid and lengthy Truth Social attack by Trump in which he blasted Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones as “losers” and “stupid people” over their criticism of his Iran rhetoric. His tirade included: “They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it... [N)obody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS...” Rather, “MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH, and these people have no idea how to do that... As President, I could get them on my side anytime I want to, but when they call, I don’t return their calls because I’m too busy on World and Country Affairs.”
