War Powers Votes Sought in Congress; 50 House Dems File Bill To Review President's Fitness in Office, per 25th Amendment

Members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives resumed meeting on April 14 on Capitol Hill after their two-week Easter/Passover break. There are efforts in both chambers to again bring up resolutions for a vote this week against the U.S.-Israeli Iran War, under the War Powers Act.

Additionally, today 50 Democrats in the House co-sponsored the introduction of a bill to establish an independent commission to review President Donald Trump’s capacity to continue to serve in office. The 10-page bill was introduced by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) titled, “To establish the Commission on Presidential Capacity To Discharge the Power and Duties of the Office, and for Other Purposes.”
