The U.S. 6th Fleet announced the arrival of a U.S. ballistic missile submarine in Gibraltar on May 10, the same day that President Donald Trump called the Iranian response to the U.S. “peace” proposal “unacceptable.”
“The port visit demonstrates U.S. capability, flexibility, and continuing commitment to its NATO allies. Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines are undetectable launch platforms for submarine-launched ballistic missiles, providing the U.S. with its most survivable leg of the nuclear triad,” the 6th Fleet statement said.
