China's Diplomatic Blitz: Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia and Asia

Beyond the headline meetings with Trump, Putin, and Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, Beijing has hosted a broad sweep of world leaders this month. Tajik President Rahmon, Uzbek Prime Minister Aripov, Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Rahman, and Brunei’s Crown Prince Al-Muhtadee Billah have already visited. Pakistani President Zardari made a five-day visit earlier in May; Prime Minister Sharif is due soon for the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations. Serbian President Vučić is also expected shortly, and Singaporean Foreign Minister Balakrishnan arrives May 24-26.
