The Democratic National Committee on May 21 released a 192-page autopsy of Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential election loss, authored by Democratic consultant Paul Rivera. As numerous media have noted, the report does not mention “Israel,” “Palestine,” or “Gaza.” The foreign-policy issue that defined the closing months of the campaign motivated the “uncommitted” vote that signaled the loss months in advance.
What the autopsy does include reads as an extended explanation of why voters were wrong to leave Harris. The report blames the Biden White House for failing to set up the Harris campaign, faults the campaign itself for collapses with men, rural voters, white non-college voters, and new voters, and treats the demographic shifts as failures of mobilization and messaging rather than as responses to substantive policy positions. The report has no conclusion, no executive summary, and no “Notes for the Reader” section; every page bears a disclaimer.
