Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Iran’s mistrust of the United States is rooted in Washington’s hostile actions against Tehran. “This distrust is the result of hostile acts by the American side, the latest of which were two attacks on our country during negotiations, effectively stabbing us in the back,” he told French President Emanuel Macron in a phone call yesterday, reported Tasnim.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, meanwhile, is continuing his diplomacy. Yesterday, while still in Beijing, he placed a phone call to Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. In the phone call, the two ministers reviewed the latest developments in the region and emphasized the need to continue on the path of diplomacy and cooperation among regional countries in order to prevent the emergence or escalation of tensions, reported Tasnim.
