Even as Trump threatens more warfare, Mohamed Qalibaf, the speaker of Iran’s parliament, is pointing to the real dynamic. “As President Xi (of China) said ‘The transformation unseen in a century is accelerating across the globe,’ and I emphasize that the Iranian nation’s 70-day resistance has accelerated this transformation,” Ghalibaf wrote on his X account on Saturday, reported IRNA. “The future belongs to the Global South,” he added.
Separately, Tasnim reported yesterday that Qalibaf has been appointed as Iran’s special representative for China affairs following a proposal by President Masoud Pezeshkian and approval by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.
