After videos and reports documenting violence and torture by Israeli soldiers against dozens of activists of the “Global Sumud Flotilla,” kidnapped in international waters and kept under arrest for several days in Israel, the EU Council is asked to implement sanctions against Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is shown in a video with the activists handcuffed, in chains and kneeling on the floor. Among others, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said he had written a letter to Kallas, calling Ben Gvir’s actions “unacceptable” and asking to include the issue in the agenda of the next EU foreign ministers meeting.
