U.S. Pauses $14 Billion Arms Sale to Taiwan, To Save Weapons for Iran, Says Navy Secretary

Acting Secretary of the Navy Hung Cao said on May 21 that the U.S. is pausing a $14 billion arms sale to Taiwan, due to shortages of supplies in the war with Iran. “Right now we’re doing a pause in order to make sure we have the munitions we need for Epic Fury—which we have plenty,” he told the Senate Appropriations Defense Subcommittee.
