He recks not, nor cares not, what he says.
Just one day after President Donald Trump claimed that the War Powers Act was “unconstitutional” and/or did not apply to the Iran war because it is, at the moment, “merely” a total military blockade, the Rubio State Department has hastily arranged four immediate military sales totaling $8.6 billion to four Mideast nations, completely ignoring Congress. The sales are to Qatar (Patriot missile system interceptors); Israel, the U.A.E. and Qatar again (Advanced Precision Kill Weapons Systems); and Kuwait (air defense system). It’s not clear when these “instant” sales will arrive, since it takes years to build replacements for all the interceptors and other munitions which have been expended in the war, and of which stocks are low.
