Albanians Protest Against Kushner Resort Project

Thousands of Albanians protested in front of the government building yesterday, against a project for the construction of a large tourist complex on one of the beaches in southern Albania, in the Zvernec area, about 150 kilometers from Tirana. Apparently, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are involved, together with Qatari brothers Moutaz and Ramez Al-Khayyat, who run the conglomerate Power International Holding. The two have already spent about $200 million to purchase the land, whose Albanian owners are under investigation. Protesters insist that the area is under nature protection; the government says the law allows for construction.
