Ambassador Eskindir Yirga Asfaw delivered remarks at an international conference entitled “End of 500 years of Colonialism—for a Dialogue of Civilizations, the Urgency of a New Global Security and Development Architecture” organized by the renowned Schiller Institute on the 31st of May 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
The Ambassador’s statement under the title “Ethiopia- Independent Beacon and its Path to Prosperity” explained the attributes that earned Ethiopia the names “Land of Origins” and “the uncolonized beacon.” He gave emphasis to Ethiopia’s role in anti-colonial independence struggle in Africa, historic engagement in multilateral institutions that shape global order and rekindling of Pan-Africanist Movement.
The Ambassador seized the occasion to familiarize participants with Ethiopia’s journey towards prosperity characterized by fundamental reforms, strong economic growth, infrastructure boom, revitalized tourism sector, food sovereignty and massive environment protection schemes such as the “The Green Legacy Initiative.”
