On June 23, the House Rules Committee reported out, by a vote of 8 to 4, a resolution for consideration on the House floor H.R. 8595, the National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act for 2027, along with three other bills. Among the 29 amendments to the bill that the resolution will allow to come to the floor is one by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), striking $3.3 billion in US Foreign Military Financing for Israel from the bill. In a posting on X)(x.com/RepThomasMassie/status/2070546836813709660), Massie said that he expects his amendment will be voted on next week. “Netanyahu said he wants to reduce Israel’s dependence on US aid; let’s start now,” he said.
