A very large spelling of “8647” was spotted drawn into the grass at the National Mall in Washington—an acronym calling for the death of the 47th President, Donald Trump. The lettering was discovered on Thursday June 11. The White House responded immediately, with a spokesperson telling CNN: “Anyone who engages in or endorses political violence or assassination culture must be condemned in the harshest terms possible.” It remains unclear how the lettering was imprinted onto the grass, and the issue is now under investigation. It occurs only days before the giant UFC spectacle on the White House lawn for Flag Day.
