) Russia is concerned over the present U.S. blockade of the island. “The topic of Washington’s pressure on Cuba is present in our contacts with the Americans,” he said. “I’m not inclined to go into detail, but I can say that our approaches differ radically. We understand the full range of circumstances Cuba has found itself in as a result of the illegal American blockade and the mounting pressure, and we cannot remain indifferent to this.”
