President Trump announced today that he has appoint Bill Pulte, currently head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to be acting Director of National Intelligence when Tulsi Gabbard steps down at the end of the month, reported NBC News. Pulte reportedly has no qualification in intelligence.

Trump announced on social media that Pulte will remain as director of the housing finance agency, as well as chairman of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, government-sponsored enterprises created by Congress to support the mortgage market. Pulte has been accused of helping the Trump administration compile information to fuel investigations into the president’s perceived political enemies.
