American Jews Favor NYC's Muslim Mayor Over Israeli PM Netanyahu; Republican Support for Israel Falls

Amongst Jews in America, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is viewed much more unfavorably than New York City’s Muslim Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, according to an AP-NORC poll, as reported by AP. While Mamdani’s favorables (44%) are higher by 5 points than his unfavorables (39%), Netanyahu’s favorables (32%) trail his unfavorables (59%) by 27 points. This amounted to a 32-point swing in Mamdani’s direction.

The general U.S. population reversed these trends, with favorable to unfavorable for Mamdani at 27% to 28%, and for Netanyahu, 38% to 20%—or a 19-point net advantage for Netanyahu. Apparently, if concern over Netanyahu’s leadership of Israel is still to be claimed as the measure of anti-Semitism, then America’s Jewish population is more anti-Semitic than the rest of the population!
