Caracciolo: European Rearmament Leads to a Nuclear War With Russia

Editor of the monthly geopolitical journal Limes, Lucio Caracciolo, usefully raised the very real danger of nuclear war in an interview with La7 TV network on Thursday, July 16:

“There is a consensus among the group of willing nations—in which Germany plays a key role—that Russia will invade us sooner or later. Some, such as German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, believe Russia will invade us by 2029. Others say it will happen even sooner. Whether this is true or not, Europe is acting as if it were true. And that means rearmament,” Caracciolo said. “The problem is that a war with Russia would likely last only half an hour—in the sense that it could only be a nuclear war. It’s not as if the Russians are sending soldiers they don’t already have in Paris,” he added.
