Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Khamenei has pledged to avenge the killing of Martyr Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei after thanking people for their massive participation in the funeral procession and burial ceremony of the martyred Leader last week. In a message dated July 9 but not released until July 11, Mojtaba Khamenei vowed that vengeance “will be done” one way or another.
“We pledge to avenge your pure blood and the blood of all the martyrs of these two wars by taking revenge against the criminal, disgraceful murderers,” he said. “This vengeance is what our nation is demanding, and this must definitely be done. These criminals…must know that this action doesn’t depend on my presence or that of any other official. Whether we are here or not, this will be done.”
The release of Khamenei’s message came the day after Imam Ali Khomeini, the grandson of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution, delivered the mourning memorial assembly for Ali Khamenei in Qom yesterday.
