Israeli Poll Shows Eisenkot over Netanyahu 43% - 34%

An Israeli Channel 12 news survey has Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu trailing former IDF chief Gadi Eisenkot, by a significant margin, with 43% of Israeli voters saying they prefer Eisenkot as prime minister versus 34% for the sitting premier. The survey also has the pro-Netanyahu bloc in the Knesset at 51 seats and the anti-Netanyahu bloc at 59. The remaining 10 seats go to Arab parties.

Eisenkot had joined Netanyahu’s War Cabinet in October 2023, but resigned in June 2024 over the latter’s unclear military strategy for Gaza. His son and two nephews died in combat in Gaza.
