After the July 17 death of two American service members during an Iranian missile attack on a U.S. base in Jordan, CENTCOM announced that a third individual remains missing, although remains have been found at the site that have not yet been identified. “After a thorough search, U.S. military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing,” CENTCOM wrote in a statement on X.
Separately, the statement went on, a fourth U.S. service member was killed in northern Iraq on July 18, “during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone,” and a second was wounded.
