The U.S. extended its bombing campaign against Iran for the ninth consecutive night on Sunday. “CENTCOM assets targeted Iranian military command centers, air defense and coastal surveillance sites, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communications networks to further diminish Iran’s ability to attack commercial vessels and civilian mariners transiting the Strait of Hormuz,” Centcom said in a press release. “The U.S. military is holding Iran accountable at the Commander in Chief’s direction. CENTCOM forces remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready.”
The reports out of Iran tell a different story: “The latest wave of American aggression against Iran has expanded across multiple provinces, with attacks reported within minutes on at least eight Iranian cities. Explosions were reported in Tabriz (northwestern Iran), Khorramabad (western Iran), Urmia (NW), Bandar Imam (SW), Chabahar (SE coast), Konarak (SE coast), Jask (SE coast), Sirik (east side of Strait of Hormuz), Khormuj (Bushehr province, southern Iran), Bushehr, Mahshahr (SW), Abadan (SW), and Kangan Port (SW), marking one of the widest coordinated assaults in recent days,” reported the Enemy Watch Telegram channel.
In response, “Iranian retaliatory operations expanded across the region, with renewed attacks reported against American military positions, separatist infrastructure, and strategic sites. Kuwait, Bahrain, northern Iraq, and waters near the UAE and Oman all witnessed military activity as explosions and drone operations were reported across multiple locations.” The IRGC reported in a statement that “two non-compliant oil tankers, which, at the instigation and coercion of the child-killing U.S. Army, intended to enter and exit through the unsafe and hazardous southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, exploded and were brought to a halt.”
