Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, in his briefing today, pointed to the broader significance of the reports that Ukrainian “militants” are involved in attacks in Iraq. Responding to a question from the Russian Ministry of Defense channel Zvezda about the Iraqi National Security Advisor’s revelation that several persons who confessed to working for Kiev had been detained there, Peskov said: “If we look back, the Kiev regime has been constantly expanding the geography of its terrorist activities.” He listed several: the Ukrainian role in blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline; the attacks on Kazakhstan and its export infrastructure belonging to the multi-national Caspian Pipeline Consortium, and then on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea. This geographic expansion highlights the global importance of Russia successfully completing its goals of its special military operation, he added.

Another 409, including 12 children, were injured by terrorist attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
