Vigilante Violence by Israeli Settlers Is the Rule, Not the Exception

Is it still a surprise when radical Israeli settlers assault Palestinians, Jewish civil rights activists, U.S. citizens of Palestinian background, and even U.S. congressmen who dare to investigate possible human rights violations in the West Bank?

Much has been said about the July 8 confrontation where armed vigilante ‘settlers’ stopped and harassed U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna (D-CA), while IDF soldiers backed them up. Little noticed is that three days later, four armed settlers attacked journalists near Ramallah, as reported by Reuters. CNN reporters were amongst the group that was trying to get to Sinjil to report on events there on the one-year anniversary of settlers beating to death a U.S. citizen, Saif Musallet. Saif was born in the U.S. and was a resident of Florida, but was of Palestinian heritage.
