Overnight on July 29-30, US Central Command announced a new round of strikes against Iran. While it’s not clear how much damage was done considering President Trump’s commitment earlier in the day to “beat the fuc*ing sh*t” out of Iran, many sites were reportedly hit. “CENTCOM assets struck dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defense sites, and maritime capabilities,” CENTCOM said in a statement. “The strikes aimed to further diminish threats posed by Iran and its proxies to American forces, commercial shipping, and neighboring Gulf countries.”
According to Iranian officials, the US launched missile strikes on several cities in southern Iran early Thursday, killing three members of a family in Qeshm Island and targeting areas in Bushehr, Fars and Khuzestan provinces, reported Tasnim. The overnight attacks targeted the cities of Qeshm, Ahvaz, Abadan, Arvand Kenar, Kish, Kazeroun, Bushehr and Shadegan.
The IRGC said in a statement that it had responded to the US strikes with another round of missiles aimed at the Muwaffaq Salti airbase in Jordan. It claimed the destruction of three F-35 stealth fighters and the deaths of an unspecified number of US military personnel, but these claims are unconfirmed.
