The China-Europe Arctic container express route, which had its maiden voyage in Sept. 2025, began its first trip for 2026 on Aug. 15, Xinhua reported. This year, eight weekly voyages are planned through October, which is when weather conditions are most favorable for the Arctic route.
“The route crosses the Northeast Arctic Passage,” Xinhua explained, “before reaching major European ports including Felixstowe in Britain, Rotterdam in the Netherlands, Hamburg in Germany and Gdynia in Poland.” according to the operator.
