The IRGC said in a statement that two violating oil tankers, “misled by the US Central Command (CENTCOM),” were struck and brought to a halt in the Strait of Hormuz after attempting to transit through an unauthorized route, adding that four other tankers quickly turned back. It added that the IRGC Navy continues to exercise “full control and management” over the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement noted that on Thursday night, in response to CENTCOM’s “false statement,” Iran had warned all shipping companies and marine insurers not to rely on CENTCOM’s notices and instead to ask those who had been misled and subsequently became involved in incidents. The IRGC Navy finally warned that the “illegal interference and unlawful orders” issued by the “child-killing US military” to vessels in the region would “not go unanswered.”
