President Trump claimed on Wednesday that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has 57 nuclear warheads. “I know Kim Jong Un very well, and he’s going to be fine as long as we have a smart president,” Trump told reporters Wednesday, reported Reuters. “The fact that I get along with him—that’s a good thing, not a bad thing. He has 57 very powerful nuclear weapons,” Trump said. “They should have never allowed it. If I were president, I wouldn’t have allowed it. But he’s got them.”
Trump did not explain where he got the number 57 nor what exactly it meant but according to an analysis in the [Korea Herald, various South Korean estimates of North Korea’s nuclear weapons have run much higher, from 80 to 150.
