The following presentation was given by Megan Dobrodt, president of the Schiller Institute U.S.A., to an online gathering of young people on August 15, 2026. It was the fourth in a Schiller Institute international youth class series, and included participants from the United States, Gambia, Mexico, Brazil, Uganda, Germany, France, Nigeria, Canada, and Liberia.
I want to start this class—which I called “The World Needs More People—The Anti-Entropic Science of Vernadsky and LaRouche”—with what I think is the most important question that we face, and especially you face, as young people, at this moment in history, which is an incredible moment, when the old, imperial world order is falling apart—and it is falling apart, not without danger—and there is a growing movement of nations which are working together to figure out a new system of governance for the world: a post-colonial, post-unipolar world order.
That crucial question is: What does it mean to be human? What are we, as a species? What is our assigned job as the human species, by the planet, by the biosphere, by the universe? What role do we play in the universal order?
