UK Foreign Minister Ed Miliband offered a textbook case in what Lyndon LaRouche described as the British duplicitous tradition of always having a “Plan B” when “Plan A” is exposed. Miliband announced sanctions against West Bank settlements as part of a “new approach” in the face of continuing violence against Palestinians living in the occupied territories in the West Bank. “The British government,” he proclaimed “agrees that there is ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in areas of the West Bank, perpetrated by settler terrorists.” This “new approach... not only calls out injustice and suffering but acts.”

There was a predictable response from Israel, with Finance Minister and Greater Israel/ethnic cleansing fanatic Smotrich posting on X: “We will not be a doormat trampled by an antisemitic government, in a country conquered by radical Islam, trying to save itself from economic and social decline by attacking Jews and the State of Israel.” He demanded a response to the UK: “Expel the British ambassador tonight!”

The Labour Friends of Israel, while providing lip service support for Miliband’s comments, released a statement by the UK reviewer of terrorism, Jonathan Hall, who warned this action might have “negative consequences for British Jews, who are facing near-unprecedented levels of antisemitism.”
