Donald Trump and Iranian state media both reported today that Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had held a three-hour indirect meeting with Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with intermediaries from Qatar shuttling from one room to the other. Results of the meetings were not published, but Trump said the meeting was “very good.”
Iranian press reports that some leaders and the press opposed the meeting and called for explanations of why such a meeting was held with a country carrying out military and economic attacks on the nation.
