Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim is on his fourth visit to China, solidifying ASEAN and Global South ties with China. China has been Malaysia’s leading trade partner for 17 years, and the BRI (Belt and Road Initiative) has built railroads and other projects in the country.

Anwar will attend the opening ceremony of the World Skills Competition, described by Global Times as the “world’s biggest international skills competition, bringing together young people and industry, education, and government leaders worldwide to advance Technical and Vocational Education and Training.” He will also attend the launching ceremony of the Global Digital Trade Expo, the Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.
